Here are the consignor's comments about this special car:
I was given this 1966 Mustang in 1996 by her father for my 16th birthday. We lived in a small rural town in Indiana. I loved all things “vintage” and my favorite album at the time was Janis Joplin's “Pearl.” I fittingly named this white pearly Mustang after that album. I drove Pearl through High School and College but when I left for Medical School it sat unused for 7 years, sometimes exposed to the elements, until my (now) husband fell in love with the car and committed to restore it. Pearl moved with the us to Rockford, IL where is was meticulously restored by a classic car expert via Rotisserie (their are numerous photos of the process). When we decided to move to Orange County in 2017 the Mustang came with us via train. It has been garaged for the last 6 years, rather than hold on to it for nostalgia we have decided to sell it hoping someone will lovingly use it.
Pearl has had 3 owners, each has meticulously kept records. The original owner purchased the car March 3, 1966 in Lincoln, Nebraska and it was maintained in a climate controlled garage in Indiana for 20 years. This data is typed into the original owners manual. The second owner, Craig, was gifted the mustang for Christmas in 1987 for his first car but let it go when he was deployed to Iraq in the Army. He served many terms in the Mid-East through the 1990s and early 2000s and was a local hero who provided war correspondence to the local papers. He and I were pen pals for a short time!"
The Mustang is equipped with automatic transmission, power steering and 200CID 6 cylinder engine. It handles nicely and is a pleasure to drive.
